Shirley J. Doverspike

Shirley J. Doverspike, 88, of Yeagertown, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Ohesson Manor.

Born Feb. 11, 1931, in Brackenridge, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (Cribbs) Heasley.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn R. Doverspike Sr., whom she married in October 1945; children, Carol Ann Kling and husband, Joe, of York, Deborah Hurley and husband, Art Carter, of McVeytown, Kathy Renninger and husband, Dan, of Mount Union, Glenn R. “Rob” Doverspike Jr. and wife, Nikki, of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Shirley was a member of Calvary Bible Church and attended the Daughters of Ruth Sunday school class.

She enjoyed working on sewing, crocheting and knitting projects and spending time with her family and church family. Shirley was a volunteer at Ohesson Manor for 35 years.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Reverend Ron Doverspike officiating.

Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery.
