Shirley G. Hetrick, 84, formerly of Granville, and a resident of Locust Grove Retirement Village, in Mifflin, passed away at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Dec. 10, 1934, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Clyde E. and Catherine L. (Rosegay) Gingerich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Donald E. Hetrick; brothers, George Gingerich and Philip Gingerich Sr.; and her sister, Evelyn Gingerich.
Shirley is survived by: sons, Dewayne W. Chamberlain and wife, Wendy, of Spring Hill, Florida, and Donald D. Hetrick and wife, Susan, of Lemoyne; two grandchildren, Angela M. Chamberlain, and Jessica L. Chamberlain-Glowacki; four great-grandchildren; Tristan, Tyler, Talon and Tate Glowacki; and brothers, Frederick E. and Clyde R. Gingerich, both of Lewistown.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown.
She was employed at a number of retail stores during her lifetime, lastly in the layaway department at Jamesway. Shirley loved shopping, cooking and was into researching movie history and collecting old movie posters.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 North Dorcas Street, Lewistown, with Father William Weary officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
