Steven F. Barger, 65, of Lewistown, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 20, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Fred and Marjorie (Stewart) Barger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son in 1977, and son, Nicholas Barger.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary E. (Harshbarger) Barger, whom he married March 18, 1973; son, Matthew Barger and fiancee, Jenna Knepp, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Seth Barger, Christopher Barger, Sydnie Barger-Kauffman and Drew Barger; and sister, Cynthia Vincenti and husband, John, of State College.
Steven was a Penn Highlands, Lewistown Campus graduate, Class of 1972.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
In his earlier years, he worked at the ice plant in Lewistown and KAVEE Dairy in Belleville. Steven retired after 36 years of service with Tony’s Pizza and Schwan’s as a delivery truck driver. He was an avid Penn State, all sports fan, and loved fishing from his boat.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Fisk officiating.
Interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
