Thomas G. Snyder, 68, of Lewistown, Granville Township, passed away at 5:54 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 27, 1949, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Thomas G. and Edna R. (Silks) Snyder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Dennis Snyder; two sisters, JoAnn DeWees and Phyllis Romig; a brother-in-law, Steven Fackender; and a sister-in-law, Linda Savitts.
He is survived by: his wife, Joyce (Phillips) Snyder, whom he married Nov. 29, 1999; a son, Ashley Phillips and wife, Julia, of Havertown; grandson, Andrew Phillips; and seven siblings, Barbara King, of Maryland, Dwight Snyder and wife, Mary Lou, of Lewistown, Faye Moore and husband, Thomas, of Virginia, Sandra Murafka and husband, Michael, of Williamsport, Kenneth Snyder and wife, Lori, of Lewistown, Kristy Radar and husband, Thomas, of Enola, and Mitzi Fackender, of Lewistown.
Thomas graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1967.
He was the owner/operator of Maverick Engineering, Inc. where he built racecar engines.
In addition to racecars, he also enjoyed shooting at the Blue Rock Sportsmans Club, and loved his dogs, Jack, Lucy and Willie.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 16, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Randy Traxler officiating.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.
