Violet I. Peachey, 88, of Yeagertown, passed away at 5:34 AM, Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at her home.
Born July 24, 1929, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Verna (Searer) Davis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Jefferson Peachey, Jr.; sons, William and Jeffrey Peachey; sister, Shirley Yoder; and a granddaughter, Teresa Lukens.
She is survived by: children, Patsy I. Edwards, and husband Ronald, of Yeagertown, Harold L. Peachey, and wife, Marie, of Maine, Gwen Lukens, and husband Bob, of Burnham, Barbara J. Schantzenbach, of Hellerstown, Richard E. Peachey, of Dover, Sharon Foor, and Tim, of Huntingdon, Crist Peachey, and wife, Gloria, of Yeagertown; brother, Frank Davis, of Huntingdon; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many great- great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Yeagertown United Methodist Church.
Early in life she was a stay at home mother, wife and babysitter. She later worked at Fisher’s, Home healthcare and was a waitress at various clubs.
Violet enjoyed knitting, crafts and needlework. She was a boy and girl scout leader and was a Sunday School teacher of class 9. She enjoyed her community knitting group that knit for charity’s. She was part of the PTA and Band Boosters. Violet loved spending time with her family and friends.
Interment will take place Saturday, May 5, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Belleville at 10 AM.
A memorial service will follow at 11 AM, at the Yeagertown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carola Beasley-Topliffe officiating.
