Vivian Mae Hamilton, 92, formerly of Lewistown, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019, at Centre Crest, in Bellefonte.
Born October 8, 1927, Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Fred McCormick and Obolene “Betty” (Merryman) McCormick-Wertz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband Harold “Max” Hamilton; and a brother, Russell McCormick.
She is survived by: children, Russell Rager and wife, Jane, of Lewistown, Robin Rager and wife, Elena, of Lomita, CA, Nancy Hamilton, of State College; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan Rager and wife, Kathleen, Ben Rager, Rebecca Hery and husband, Dean, Jessica Withaar and husband, Eric, Andrew Cox, William Cox and fiancé, MeSeon Park, Grace Hamilton, Elizabeth Hamilton, Catherine Hamilton, Quincy Hamilton, Tricia Bazan and husband, Manuel, and James Aguayo; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Vivian was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1945.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Earlier in life, she worked as a secretary at Overhead Door, Beacon Lodge Camp for the Blind, and Juniata College.
Vivian loved spending time with her family and friends, being involved in her church, reading mystery novels, and crocheting. She was a loving, compassionate, strong woman of great faith. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A receiving of friends will be held from 12:00 to 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m., with Rev. Charles Hershberger officiating.
