William “Bill” L. Harlon, 67, of Lewistown, courageously fought and lost his battle with cancer at 9:25 a.m., Friday, November 24, 2017, at his home.  

Born Nov. 3, 1950, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Russell and Dorothy (Keiser) Harlon. 

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Clinger, and his brother, Mike Harlon.    

He is survived by: his wife and love of his life, Kathy L. (Fultz) Harlon, whom he married Nov. 23, 1968, and with whom he had celebrated 49 years of marriage the day before his passing; children, Sue Hesser and husband, Raine, of Lewistown, Tally Beaver and husband, Wayne, of Milroy, and Eric Harlon, of Lewistown; six grandchildren, Tasha Hesser and companion, Alberto Galan, Katelynn Hesser and companion, Tracy Rothrock, Tawni Beaver and companion, Zach Miller, Jimmy Beaver, Raina Hesser, and Kendra Harlon; great-granddaughters, Marina Galan and Della Hesser; and a sister, Bonnie Slemons. 

Early in life, Bill worked on the Mifflin County farm.  He later was employed at Econopane Insulating Glass Company, and retired from Juniata Concrete.

Bill was a lifetime member of the East Derry Fire Company, and enjoyed playing poker and fishing.  He loved spending time with Fred Barraclough at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, where Bill eventually became known as the “Juicy Fruit Man”.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Weds., Nov. 29, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham.
