Anna Mae (Miller) Earnest

Anna Mae Earnest, 92, of Belleville and formerly of Milroy, passed away at 9:10 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born Aug. 11, 1931, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. "Nick" Miller and Ida Margaret (Wagner) Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, David L. Earnest, whom she married in 1949, on June 25, 2000; companion, Gilbert "Gib" Knepp, in 2004; son, Jeffrey L. Earnest, and a son, in infancy; son-in-law, Daryl F. Moore; sisters, Ruth (Miller) Kittell and Maxine Miller; and brother, Harry E. "Nick" Miller Jr.

Anna is survived by: children, Kathryn A. Moore, of Belleville, and Steven D. Earnest, of Duncannon; five grandchildren, David F. Moore (Denise), of Mechanicsburg, Roy S. Earnest (Paula), of Mifflintown, Tiffany D. Earnest, of Altoona, Lacey J. VandeVander (Eric), of Altoona, and Lisa K. Fulmer (Steven), of Collegeville; six great-grandchildren; brother, John Miller Sr., of Lewistown; and sisters, Leilani Weaver, Jeannie Fetterman, Lori Kulp, all of Lewistown, and Tina Miller, of Reedsville.

She was a graduate of Yeagertown High School, Class of 1949.

Anna was a member of Barrville Mennonite Church.

She was employed at Arrow Shirt Factory from 1959 to 1985 and at Scotty's Fashions from 1987 until her retirement in 1993.

She enjoyed doing volunteer work at Lewistown Hospital and Crossroads Pregnancy Center.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Carl Geissinger officiating.

Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery, Oakland Avenue, Lewistown.
