B. Marie (Barlett) Grose, 83, formerly of Granville, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at her home in Mifflin.
Born Feb. 3, 1940, in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late Paul Russell and Blanche Irene (Miller) Barlett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Charles Frederick Grose, whom she married April 7, 1955; three brothers, Charles L., Robert E., and Donald P. Barlett; and a sister, Elizabeth Romig.
She is survived by: children, Willis Anthony Grose and wife, Karen, of Lewistown, Tambria Gail Pisklak and husband, John A., of Annville, and Russell Charles Grose and wife, Rosann M., of Exton; four grandchildren, Nicholas A. Grose, Darrick L. Grose, Kassia M. (Pisklak) Gordon and husband, Scott, and Kara Lynn (Pisklak) Zinsmeister and husband, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Mason A. and Sophie S. Grose, and John M., Wyatt and Morgan Zinsmeister; and sisters, Donna G. Narehood, of Lewistown, Linda L. Bell, of Mifflin, and Betty G. Gaisor and husband, Nelson, of Lebanon.
Marie was a member of Granville United Methodist Church. She also attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mifflin.
She attended Lewistown High School and later received her GED. She also graduated from Central Penn Business School. Marie was employed at Fishers Electronics and later worked at the Mifflin County Library.
When her children were little, Marie was a Brownie Troop leader, helped with Girl Scouts and 4-H, and enjoyed attending their band and sporting events. She enjoyed reading and gardening, hummingbirds, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at the Granville United Methodist Church Education Building, 1346 North River Road, Granville. Memorial contributions may be made to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828, or Trinity United Methodist Church, 304 Juniata Street, Mifflin, PA 17058.
