Belle Ann Mayes, 84, of Lewistown, passed away Feb. 2, 2020, at home.
Born Sept. 27, 1935, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late Samuel C. Betlyon Sr. and Edith M. (Suloff) Betlyon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: son, James C. Mayes; and a grandson, Timothy G. Burke Jr.
She is survived by: children, Vicki L. Fultz, of Burnham, Bea Burke, of Burnham, Nancy J. Wilt, of Reedsville, Daniel S. Mayes, of West Palm Beach, David M. Mayes and wife, Cathryn, of Pine Grove; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; siblings, Samuel C. Betlyon Jr., of Burnham, and Debra J. Betlyon and companion, Ronnie Snook, of Burnham; daughter-in-law, Terry Knouse and husband, Scott, of Reedsville.
Belle was a graduate of Burnham-Derry Joint High School, Class of 1953, and a Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1956.
In her earlier years, she worked at Black’s Hospital, Lewistown Hospital, where she retired after 25 years of service, and the Bon-Ton.
She liked playing bingo and loved her cats.
A celebration of life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham.
