Bertha K. Snyder, 98, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Reading Hospital.
Born on September 10, 1927, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond M. and Anna Mae (Bedlyon) Kohler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen J. Snyder, whom she married Feb. 8, 1974; siblings, Pauline Walters, June Vaughn, Carmen Beers, George Kohler, Kenneth, Arthur, and Bernard Kohler; son-in-law, Thomas Murphy. Bertha was the last of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Murphy, of Reading, Betty Boczkowski and husband, William, of SC; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Bertha was Lutheran by faith.
She worked as a machine operator at the National Biscuit Company for 25 years, retiring in 1985.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Juniata Memorial Park, with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bertha’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
