Betty Lou Shank, 84, of Belleville and formerly of Reedsville, passed away at 5:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, at Valley View Retirement Community.

She was born on June 11, 1940, in Lewistown, and was the daughter of the late Gilbert Sr. and Esther (Brininger) Rhoades.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a son, Mickey Wagner, and siblings, Gilbert Rhoades Jr. and Linda Rhoades.

Betty is survived by: son, Rick Wagner and wife, Sherry, of Lewistown; daughter-in-law, Sherry Wagner (Mickey), of Milroy; three grandsons, Adam Wagner, of Milroy, Andrew Wagner and fiancée, Stacia Houp, of Duncansville, and Ross Wagner, of Falls Church, Va.; brother, Robert Rhoades Sr., of Reedsville; sister-in-law, Anna Rhoades (Gilbert Jr.), of Reedsville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Kishacoquillas High School.

Betty was a long-time employee of Thrift Drug Stores in Lewistown and Bellefonte, from which she retired.  In retirement, she was a devoted caretaker for her mother, Esther.

Betty will be best remembered for her kind heart and love of her family.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.
