Betty Delores Snook Obituary

Betty ‘Bets’ Delores Snook, 80, of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at her home.


Born May 23, 1945, in Saxton, Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Almeda Olive (Edwards) Steele.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin ‘Sam’ Snook, whom she lovingly married on June 13, 1970; siblings, Elsie Kauffman, Robert Steele, Patricia Bingman, Roy Steele, and Dorothy Wolfe.


She is survived by, children,Vaughn L. Snook and wife, Pamela, of McClure, Susan Snook, of Belleville, Shawn Snook and wife, Tonia, of McClure, Dawn L. Snook, of Lewistown; step-son, Mark Snook, of Whiteferd, MD; grandchildren, Courtney Specht and husband, Travis, Dustin Snook, Garrett Snook and wife, Brittany, Zachary Snook, Devon Renninger and wife, Jessica, Aaron Snook and wife, Leanna; great-grandchildren, her joy in life, Nolan and Allix Specht, Oakley Snook, Ivy Snook, Beau and Elora Renninger.


She attended the New Life Church in Burnham.


Betty was a 1964 graduate of Chief Logan High School.


Throughout her life, Betty embraced her role as a homemaker, cherishing the time spent with her loved ones. She was a caring mother, grandmother, and gram, whose greatest joy came from being surrounded by family. Betty also found pleasure in playing bingo and sharing those moments with relatives and friends.


A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2025, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m., with Pastor John Walters officiating.


Interment will take place at Paintersville CMA cemetery.
