Blanche V. Yorks, 93, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at William Penn Nursing Center.
Born November 1, 1927, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John David Rothrock and Nellie Foy (Harper) Rothrock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Yorks Sr., whom she married in June 1944; sons, John Yorks Jr., and Charles Yorks Sr.; and two great-grandsons.
Surviving are: her children, Donald and wife, Carol, of New Berlin, David and wife, Brenda, of Lewistown, Jake and wife, Nila, of the Philippines, Clara and companion, Chris, of Thompsontown, Cora and Cloyd, of Lewistown, Stanley, of McVeytown, Pearl Hall and husband, Greg, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Barbara Murphy, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Linda Fallon and husband, Tom, of Lewistown; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren on the way.
She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Blanche enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles, playing cards and listening to country-western music on the radio, and listening to church hymns being sung.
A viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m., on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Rick Bender officiating.
Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
