Boyd W. Aurand, 94, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, at William Penn Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Born January 5, 1931, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late C. Alvin and Mertie V. (Kratzer)  Aurand.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven B. Aurand; and two brothers, Donald and Dale Aurand.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine (Barger) Aurand; children, Dan L. Aurand, of Lewistown, Rick A. Aurand and wife, Cindy, of Huntingdon, and Scott D. Aurand, and wife, Cindy, of Lewistown; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Boyd was a member of Ellen Chapel Church.

He was a 1948 graduate of Lewistown High School.

Boyd dedicated his life to farming. He found great joy in spending time with his family, particularly while attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Boyd also enjoyed hunting and trapping during his leisure time.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mark Hill officiating.

Interment will be held at Juniata Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ellen Chapel Church or a Charity of One’s Choice.
