Brenda Kay Royer, 78, of Burnham, passed away at 5:08 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 25, 1943, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late L. A. and Grace (Lingle) Rhodes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Ronald “Whitey” Rhodes.
Brenda is survived by: children, Randy “Buck” Rhodes, of Milroy, Toni Royer and companion, Douglas Rogers, of Burnham, and Tami Aumiller, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Mallori Rogers, Kyle Rogers, Olivia Aumiller and Evelyn Mours; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Bailey Horner; siblings, Larry Rhodes and wife, Stella, of Lewistown, and Peggy Cox and companion, Rich Lukse, of Burnham; and an uncle, Joe Lingle and wife, Nancy, of Mifflintown.
She was employed as a waitress at Corkin’s Restaurant in downtown Lewistown, then served as a school crossing guard in Burnham for a number of years, operating the traffic signal and ensuring the safety of students. Brenda retired from the Holiday Inn after waitressing there for 33 years.
Brenda loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many customers she got to know along the way.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Weds., August 3, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Avenue, Burnham.
