Brenda K. (Ettinger) Swartz

Brenda K. Swartz, 66, of Lewistown, passed away at 6:28 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Geisinger-Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born March 28, 1956, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Stine) Ettinger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, William Ettinger Sr. and Edward Ettinger, and a sister, in infancy, Clara Catherine Ettinger.

Brenda is survived by: children, Mary E. Swartz and companion, Samuel Colbert Jr., of Marysville, and James A. Swartz Jr., of Lewistown; stepsons, Michael Swartz and wife, Elizabeth, of McClure, and David Swartz and companion, Trudy Fogal, of Loysville; eleven  grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ethel Kearns of Lewistown, Clarence Ettinger and wife, Debra, of Mifflinburg, and Betty Lou Colyer, of Lewistown.

She was a member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church in Lewistown.  Earlier, she attended Lockes Banks Evangelical Methodist Church in Milroy.

She was previously employed at Hoagies-N-More in Burnham.

Brenda was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.  She loved her family and friends with all her heart and was a friend to everyone who met her.  Brenda spent her days helping to care for her former husband, and they remained good friends.  She enjoyed playing bingo with her closest friends and spending time with her children.

Brenda loved God and was a supporter of Christian Ministries, including John Hagee.  Having survived breast cancer and multiple heart operations and procedures, she was a pillar of strength.  She was excited about the arrival of her eleventh grandchild in June and very proud of all her children and grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by everyone.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment at Maitland Cemetery.
