Carol Sue Rhinehelder, 90, of Belleville, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024, at Valley View Haven in Belleville.
She was born July 5, 1933, in Bloomsburg and grew up in Sunbury, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Mildred (Fornwald) Amey.
She married her surviving husband, Frederick D. Rhinehelder, with whom she was blessed to share more than 71 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, David F. Rhinehelder, of Lewistown, James R. Rhinehelder and wife, Jocelyn (Cube), of Cleveland, Ohio, and Richard A. Rhinehelder and wife, Jody (Anderson), of Lewisville, Texas; four grandchildren, Emily Rhinehelder and husband, Christopher Thornobene, Jacob Rhinehelder, Kelsey Rhinehelder and wife, Miranda, and Corey Harris.
Carol was a wonderful conversationalist with a quick wit and sense of humor and was loved by those she met.
She was a 1951 graduate of Sunbury High School and the H.A.C.C. School of Auctioneering. Upon graduation she and her husband had a successful Auctioneering Business for 12 years when they retired.
Carol had a very strong faith, and belonged to the Burnham Methodist Church where she taught youth & adult Sunday school and also served as a certified lay speaker.
Carol was very active with the scouting programs in the Juniata Valley Council, and was awarded the Shawnee District Award of Merit in 1982, and in 1986 received the Juniata Valley Council Silver Beaver Award in recognition of her service to the youth in the Juniata Valley Council, joining her husband who received the recognition in 1982.
A receiving of friends will be held from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Laura Kyler officiating.
