Charles E. ‘Chuck’ Fabian, 75, of Lewistown, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Greenwood Village.
Born June 9, 1949, in Greenville, PA, he was the son of the late Rev. Eli R. and Ruth Fabian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his husband, Jay A. Erb.
Survived by; Ronald and Karla Fabian, of Leesport, Miriam and Sam Slicker, of Huntingdon,; nieces, Jenifer Fabian (Kathleen), Deanna Herman (Ralph) and Amy Slicker; nephews, Nick Lojas, Henry Slicker (Liane); and great-nieces, Madeline and Rachel Herman, Abigail and Alison Slicker, Jill Lojas; special friends and caregivers, Sandy Fisher, ‘Dee’, Mary Jane Wagner, Eldon Casner, Ryanna and Zach Smith, Barry, Gary Napikoski (’Nappy’), his dog, Annie, and cat, Precious.
A 1968 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, Chuck dedicated his professional life to healthcare. His career began at Lewisburg Evangelical Community Hospital, followed by a rewarding 25 year tenure as an LPN at the Laurelton Center
His life journey, shaped by his father’s ministry, led him to reside in several communities, including New Hamburg, Berlin, Dayton, and Mifflinburg before locating to Lewistown.
A gifted musician, Chuck served faithfully as church organist at St. John’s UCC congregation in Mifflinburg for many years and he was a member of the Abbey Reformed UCC in Huntingdon. His compassionate heart extended to all creatures, as evidenced by his lifelong dedication to caring for numerous cats, dogs, rabbits, and horses.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Black Oak Ridge Cemetery.
