Christine Anne (Maugans) Maugans

Christine Anne Maugans, 86, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:44 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, in Lewistown.

Born May 19, 1938, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward P. Sr. and Edith V. (Buchanan) Maugans.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward P. Maugans Jr. and David A. Maugans, and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Aurand.

Christine is survived by: children, Kathryn A. (Aurand) Schleifer and husband, Nathan, of Nipomo, Calif., Elizabeth A. (Aurand) Yute and husband, Douglas, of Allison Park, David M. Aurand, and Jennifer A.  Aurand and husband, Richard A. Rhoads, both of Lewistown; eight grandchildren, Nicole L. (Baker) Bernacet and husband, Jon Manny, and Joshua D. Baker and wife, Dianna, both of Bedford, Benjamin Wilt and wife, Kelly, of Morristown, N.J.; Jordan Schleifer, of Nipomo, Calif., Anna (Aurand) Cary and husband, Spencer, of Kailua, Hawaii, Sophia (Aurand) Skidgel and husband, Tanner, of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; Rebekah (Yute) Elliott and husband, Chandler, of Auburn, Ga., and Joshua Yute, of Atlanta, Ga.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and a member of the State College Municipal Band.

Christine was employed for most of her life as a bank teller.  Most recently, she was employed by the Mifflin County School District as a teacher’s aide.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
