Connie L. Bishop, 81, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021, at her home, after a 25-year battle with cancer.
Born January 16, 1940, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Yoder) Fetters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Fetters, and a sister, Marjorie Payne.
She is survived by her husband, Paul S. Bishop, whom she married August 20, 1965; children, Daniel P. Bishop and wife, Molly, of McClure, Amy Beth Christine and husband, Brian, of Lewistown; six grandchildren, Nikolas and wife, Janna, Brice and wife, Sophie, and Reese Christine, Tyler, Kelsey, and Garrett Bishop; one great-granddaughter, Bonnibel Christine, and two on the way; siblings, Ronald Fetters and wife, Joan, of Lewistown, Linda J. Michaels, of McClure, Dorothy M. Weaver and husband, Enos, of Lewistown, and Jim Fetters and wife, Shirley, of Lewistown; and a foster brother, David Baumgardner.
Connie was a 1957 Derry High School graduate. She was a member of Lewistown C&MA church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and youth leader. She was also a leader of Good News Club and Pioneer Girls. Connie was a beautician and the owner and operator of Connie’s Beauty Shop for 36 years. She enjoyed sewing and gathering with her family.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Lewistown C&MA Church, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown.
A second viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Lewistown C&MA Church, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 10 a.m., with Pastor Neil Breneman officiating. The funeral service will also be available via live stream on the Lewistown Alliance Church Facebook page.
Interment will be held at Maitland Cemetery.
Everyone who attends is asked to follow CDC guidelines and wear a mask.
