Daniel L. ‘Pete’ Markley, 73, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.

Born June 2, 1950 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Malcolm R. and Grace M. (Edwards) Markley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Malcolm R. Jr., and sisters, Barbara Hannon, Mary A. Crowder.

He is survived by his wife, Sally A. (Fultz) Markley; two daughters, Stacey M. Osborne and husband, Dennis, and Kristy L. Sauer and husband, Drew, both of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Madison Byler and husband, Tyson, Danelle and Elijah Osborne, Deryn and Luke Sauer; sister, Judy A. Bearley and husband, Haven, of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law, Tammy Morris and husband, Randy, of Duncannon; many loving nieces and nephews.

Pete was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1968, and he received his associate’s degree from Williamsport Area Community College.

He was a member of The Journey Church and Mifflin County Sportsman’s Club.

In his earlier years, Pete worked for Rhodes oil trucking. He was the owner and operator of Twin Kiss for over 45 years, where he retired. He most recently worked in the bakery at the Lewistown Giant Store.

He enjoyed being outdoors going hunting and fishing. He had a gift for woodworking and making furniture. He loved his family; especially his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them perform in sports, dance and drama productions. 

Per his request, no services to be held.
