David Deavor Obituary

David L. Deavor, 81, of Lewistown, passed Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at home.

Born on November 6, 1942, in Mattawana, to the late Merrill E. and Mary G. (Marker) Deavor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay (McCormick) Deavor; siblings, Phyllis Booher, Richard, Robert, Gerald, James Sr., and Clair Deavor

He is survived by; nieces, Breanna Deavor, Kimbra Zimmerman, and Stacey Swigart; Godson/nephew, Zackary Zimmerman; nephews, Zane Zimmerman, Matthew Swigart, and Robert W. McCormick III; brother- in-law; Robert W. McCormick Jr.; siblings, Kenneth and Leon Deavor, Janice Oldt, and Sara Specht.

David was a graduate of Rothrock High School and worked at Fisher’s Electronics. He was an avid golfer and worked at Par 3 in McVeytown.

For many years, he served as an usher for Penn State home football games, and a loyal Cowboys fan. David was a passionate Nascar fan of Bill & Chase Elliot. He loved spending time with his family.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Allen Hulslander officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s memory to: American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St. Suite 206, State College, PA 16803.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
