Dean Knepp Obituary

Dean Robert Knepp, 71, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

He was born on November 19, 1953, in Lewistown, the son of the late Blain and Wanda Mary (Gussler) Knepp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Knepp.

He is survived by children, Daion Whalen, and Karris Boreman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois Geib and husband, Harvey, of Hughsville, Connie Crampton and husband, James, of Buffalo, NY.,. Wanda Reigle, of Texas, Mark Knepp, of Lewistown, Gail Sowers and husband, Steve, of Lewistown; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Dean was a proud member of VFW Post 7011, the Owls Club, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club #4294. He graduated from Penn Highland High School with the Class of 1972.

He was a retired Air Force veteran, honoring his country with dedicated service.

A receiving of friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., October 22, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.

Interment will take place at Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, with special services provided by Air Force Honor Guards.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dean’s name to American Cancer Society.
