Dollie Goss Obituary

Dollie Ruth Victoria Goss, 100, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Valley View Haven, in Belleville.

Born October 25, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Laura (Hoffman) Weimer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon L. Goss, whom she married on Nov. 9, 1941, and he passed away on June 4, 2001; her siblings, Arthur L. Weimer & wife, Kathryn, Harry J. Weimer Jr. & wife, Pauline, Robert A. Weimer and wife, Margaret, Sadie Richard, and husband, David, Margaretta Wagner and husband, Richard, Louella Black and husband, Harry, Goldie Goss and husband, Clifford Sr. Dollie was the last of her immediate family.

She is survived by her children, Diane Weader and husband, Edwin, of McClure, Janet L. Goss, of Lewistown, and Jeffrey Goss and wife, Carol, of VA.; grandchildren, Annette Weader and fiancé, Ashley Niemond, Todd Weader & wife Kristin, Chelsea Skillen and husband, Brian, and Tyler Goss; great-grandchildren, Andrew Benner and wife, Gabrielle, Curtis Benner and companion, Jola Bahajak, Maggie Weader, Lauren Ryan; great-great-grandchildren, Keegan, Elesia, Brenna, and Amelia Benner.

Dollie was a 1938 graduate of Yeagertown High School.

She was a member of Maitland Church of the Brethren. She was the clerk for the church for many years, sang in the church choir and Lady’s choir. She was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

Earlier in life, Dollie worked at the Art Craft Shirt Factory and Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory, Dank’s and Company Department store, Francisus Hardware Store, and lastly at Wolf Furniture, where she retired after 24 years of service.

Dollie enjoyed embroidery, reading, throwing horseshoes until the age of 92, music, and singing. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing softball.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be held at Maitland Cemetery.
