Dolores Noerr Obituary

Dolores J Noerr, 93, of Lewistown, was reunited with her husband, James F Noerr, on April 11, 2024.

Born October 17, 1930, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Russell Jacobs and Mary (Linn) Singleton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Noerr; a brother, Ronald Jacobs; and step-parents, Kenneth Singleton and Sara Jacobs.

She is survived by her children, Suzanne Fultz and husband, James, Karen Soccio and husband, Thomas, Timothy Noerr and wife, Wendy, all of Lewistown; grandchildren, Damein Henry, Karrah Garland, Shauna Pearson and husband, Blake, Seth Soccio and wife, Morgan Grego, Gina Soccio, Ashley Weaver and husband, Michael, Andrew Noerr; great-grandchildren, Saphire, Raziyah, Adam, Noelle, Quintin, Eli, Lilly, Mia, Addi, Brody; and a step-brother, Gary Jacobs, of Louisville, KY.

Dolores was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1948, and a member of First United Methodist Church; later in life attending Wesley Chapel. She was a school bus driver for Fisher Brothers and a Wal-Mart associate until she retired in 1999, but she had many occupations over her lifetime including working on the family farm, a courier, and owner of Halls Salvage, Montgomery Ward, and Plaza Laundromat.

She enjoyed many activities including spending time outdoors, gardening, reading, and attending concerts and was active with 4-H for many years as a leader of the Horse and Pony Club while her children were involved in a number of different clubs in the program; a tradition passed down to several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. Side-by-side with her husband Jim, Dolores (fondly known as Mother and later, MomMom) spent countless hours supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their activities, and she held an encyclopedia of sports statistics in her heart. Her greatest joy was found in the warmth of family gatherings where love and laughter echoed no matter where they found themselves, be it the farm on Noerr Lane or under the canopy of Alan Seeger.

Dolores will be forever cherished in our memories and deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A public visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 2 pm, with Pastor Steve Rynkewitz. Interment will take place at Lind Memorial Cemetery.
