Dolores Wagner Obituary

Dolores Ann Wagner, 89, of Reedsville, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Reedsville.

Born August 5, 1936, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Winfield L. Warner and Victoria Elizabeth (Pluchinsky) Warner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Wagner Sr.; siblings, Winfield L. ‘Sonny” Warner Jr., James Warner, and Patricia Allen.

She is survived by her children, Cindy L. Wagner, of Milroy, Theresa E. Cooksey and husband, David, of York, and Jerry L. Wagner Jr. and wife, Judith Fitzgerald, of Reedsville; grandchildren, D. Alexander Cooksey and wife, Caitlin, Matthew R. Cooksey and wife, Jaclyn, Lauren Cooksey Lopez and husband, Eric, John ‘Jack’ Wagner and wife, Jordehn, Grace E. Wagner, Aaron F. Wagner, Davis E. Wagner and wife, Kaitlin, Gunnar V. Wagner; great-grandchildren, Vera, Owen, Margot, and Sullivan. A brother-in-law, Harold ‘Ed’ Allen, also survives.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her friend, Judy Brittain, for her support and care in the final stretch of Dolores’s life’s journey.

A 1954 graduate of Lewistown High School, Dolores unwittingly led a life of service. Whether with the family business, various community boards and volunteer organizations, or even the dance clubs she enjoyed with her husband, her aim was never recognition; she took great care in avoiding attention in every aspect of her life.

However, Dolores’s greatest sense of service in addition to her faith, and with which she took the most pride, was her family, both immediate and extended. Those who knew her appreciated her unique wit, level of detail, quick retorts, willingness to have a conversation with anyone, and need to stay abreast of the printed news. Lastly, her generosity to those she loved will be forever appreciated.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown with Father Kevin Coyle officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dolores’s memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 223 West Jackson Blvd, Suite 350, Chicago, IL 60606.
