Donald E. Shoemaker, 84, of Reedsville, passed away at 3:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born Nov. 27, 1935, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late William L. and Evelyn P. (Narehood) Shoemaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Shoemaker, and a sister, Carolyn "Sis" McCoy.
Donald is survived by: his wife, Janet M. (Snyder) Shoemaker; sisters, Deb McCoy and husband, Donald, of Lewistown, and Karen Moody and husband, Phil, of East Peoria, Ill.; children, Toni Brower and husband, Rodney, of Lewistown, Kenton Shoemaker, of Lewistown, and Lori Goss, of Hughesville; grandchildren, Douglas Ruble Jr., Matthew Goss and wife, Jessica, and Whitney Goss; and great-grandchildren, Kannon and Lincoln Ruble, Thomas Clemens, and Isabel Goss.
Donald graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1953.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lewistown.
He was employed at Aurand's for Sports, Inc. for more than 20 years, and was an avid fly fisherman. Donald later was owner and operator of Clip 'n Paste Printing in Lewistown.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Paul Carter officiating.
Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery, Oakland Ave., Lewistown.
