Donna “Mickey” Elaine Casner, 72, of Lewistown, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Nov. 2, 1951, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Donald E. and Helen A. (Wagner) Casner. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Casner, and sisters, Helen Gay Wolfley, Shelva Sweitzer, and Mabel “Jo” Cooley.
Mickey is survived by her daughter, Dawn Marie Smith and husband, Troy, of Lewistown; grandson, Nicholas Smith, of Lewistown; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and dear friend, Charley Sweitzer, of Burnham.
She was employed at the Country Garden Six-Pack for many years, then later as a bartender and manager at various local establishments.
Mickey was a life member of the Brooklyn Fire Company in Lewistown, and she enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. A lifelong animal lover, Mickey was known to care for many injured and abandoned animals over the years. She loved her poodle, “Skippy”, and every one of her previous poodles, all lovingly named “Skippy”!
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to Noon, Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown. The processional will proceed to Juniata Memorial Park, where the graveside service will begin at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Randy Traxler officiating.
