Dora J. (Wagner) Stewart, 86, of McClure, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, in McClure.
Born May 20, 1935, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Myra (Zeiders) Wagner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Walter E. Stewart, whom she married Aug. 28, 1953, on Dec. 12, 2016; son, Jeffery Stewart; grandsons, Jeremy Bashore in 1983; Lucas E. Shawver in 2004; and Johnathan Stewart; daughters-in-law, Teresa Stewart and Tonda Stewart; son-in-law, David Fetterhoff; sister, Karen Wagner; and brother, James Wagner.
Dora is survived by: children, Marlene Shawver and husband, James, of McClure, Margaret Shawver and husband, Clyde, of Coburn, Vickie Bashore and husband, Jeff, of Mexico, Pa., Valerie Edmiston and husband, Todd, of Port Royal, Teresa Fetterhoff, of Lewistown, Todd Stewart Sr., of McClure, and John Stewart, of Lewistown; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mary C. Ruble, of McClure, Joseph Wagner and wife, Carol, of Yeagertown; and George Wagner and wife, Lillian, of McClure.
She was a member of Ferguson Valley Brethren in Christ Church.
In her early years, Dora was employed at Kirby’s Sewing Factory in McClure for eleven years and then at JPM, Inc. in Beaver Springs for several years. Most of her life was spent raising her children and loving and enjoying her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dora also loved fishing, hunting, playing Bingo and the lottery, attending yard sales, crocheting and spending time with her family.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Oct 1, 2021, at Ferguson Valley Brethren in Christ Church, 8451 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., with Reverend Kenneth Grove officiating. A meal and time of fellowship will follow the service at the church.
Private interment will take place at Vira Methodist Cemetery at a later date.
Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Burnham, is in charge of arrangements.
