Doris J. (Talbot) Shimp

Doris J. Shimp, 84, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:22 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Greenwood Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Born July 15, 1937, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Glen Lawrence and Myra (Wolfgang) Talbot.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Talbot.

Surviving are: husband, Stephen P. Shimp; daughters, Nancy A. Kepner and husband, Douglas, of Juniata Terrace, and Annette Sullivan and husband, James, of Gibsonia; grandchildren, Dyson Kepner, David Kepner and wife, Jenna, and Meghan Wise and husband, Eric; and great-grandchildren, Tylan and Tripp Kepner.           

Doris was a 1955 graduate of Lewistown High School. 

She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church.

Doris was employed as a secretary for many years at Nationwide Insurance and Brandywine.  

She enjoyed flower arranging, gardening, needlework and crafts.        

Per her wishes, there will be no services.

Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
