Dorothy Berryman Obituary

Dorothy Mae Berryman, 98, died at 4:10 AM Monday, June 28, 2021, at Ohesson Manor, and lived previously at Elmcroft Senior Living, Reedsville, and Grand Parkway N., Lewistown. 

Born December 8, 1922, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Russell T. and Sara J. (Harlan) Black. Her husband, C. William Berryman whom she married on July 3, 1946, preceded her in death in 2002. 

Surviving family members are: children, Dr. Jack and Elaine (Headings) Berryman, Kirkland, WA and Donald E. and Kathy (Staver) Berryman, Reno, NV; and two granddaughters, Andrea (Berryman) Larson, Newcastle, WA and Kimberly Berryman, Los Angles, CA; two great-granddaughters, Kendall and Morgan Larson, Newcastle, WA.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy, and sister-in-law, Gayle Black.

She graduated in 1941 from Lewistown High School. 

She retired in 1984 from Danks and Co., Lewistown after 25 years of service. 

She was a member of the Golden Rule Class of the First United Methodist Church for 83 years, was active in the 20th Century Club and volunteered her time serving those in need with the Meals on Wheels program.

She enjoyed sports of all kinds but especially excelled at softball long before Title IX provided more athletic opportunities for women. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Thursday,  July 1, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with Reverend Randy Hughes officiating.                                                                                              

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, Thursday, July 1, 2021. 

Private interment will be held at Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to: First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown.
