Dorothy Berube Neff, 88, of Lewistown, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Greenwood Village.
Born Sept. 4, 1935, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late George Berube Sr. and Helen (Hile) Berube.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Neff; a brother, Joseph Berube Sr.; and a great-granddaughter, Annalyn Neff.
She is survived by; children, Glenn Neff and wife, Joyce, of Burnham, Danny Neff and wife, Jane, of Mount Union, Bobby Neff and wife, Stephanie, of Milroy, Ronny Neff and wife, Cyndi, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Abby Ream and husband Kevin, Greg Neff, Joshua Neff and wife, Tifani, Aaron Neff and wife, Sarah, Danielle Neff, Emma Reid and husband, Andrew, Caleb Neff, Rachel Neff, Sara Neff, Ryan Neff and wife, Laura, Samanatha Wilson and husband, Andrew, Johnathan Neff and wife, Amelia; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Karley, Ava, Blake, Jackson, Annie, Adriana, Braelyn, Ridge, Lakelynn, River, Abel; a great-great-grandson, Kolter; siblings, George Berube Jr. and wife, Eileen, of Milroy; several loving nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of Grace Covenant Church where she was in charge of decorations, women’s Bible study and a prayer group. She also attended Grace Community Church in Mount Union and New Life Church.
She was a 1953 graduate of Armagh Brown High School, and a graduate of South Hills Business School.
Dorothy worked various jobs throughout her young life; Berube Beverage, Lewistown Hospital, Bookkeeper at Shelter Services, Mifflin County Library, and she felt it was her ministry to help people as a message therapist and nutritionist.
She loved her family and it was the most important to her. She was a very influential person in helping bring people to the Lord and spreading the Lord’s word. She enjoyed being outside in her flower and rock gardens, and she was an avid bird watcher. She was proud of being the captain of her high school basketball team and achieving high scorer.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Grace Covenant Church, 227 Washington Ave, Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m., with Rev. John Walters officiating.
Private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Grace Covenant Church.
