Edna A. Earnest, 89, of Lewistown, passed away at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at her home.
Born Oct. 16, 1931, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Edna (Dukes) Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, John J. Earnest Sr.; son, Kenneth Earnest; her sister, Florence Goss; and daughter-in-law, Tina Earnest.
Edna is survived by: children, John J. Earnest Jr., Judy Melius and husband, William Sr., Anita Burdge and husband, Ronald, Harold Earnest and wife, LuAnn, and Calvin Earnest and wife, Sheila, all of Lewistown; 20 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Smith and wife, Karen, of Atlanta, Ga., and Lawrence Smith, of Auburn, Pa.; and daughter-in-law, Gail Earnest, of Lewistown.
She was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Lewistown.
In her earlier years, Edna was active in the City Hook and Ladder and Highland Park Fire Companies.
She was employed in the Housekeeping Department at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center prior to retiring.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 26, 2021, at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Douglas Sherlock officiating.
Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery, Oakland Ave., Lewistown.
