Elizabeth Ruth Earnest, 96, of Lewistown, fell asleep in the Lord, December 30, 2021.
Born Nov. 23, 1925, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Minnie (Ruble) Ritter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Lewis E. Earnest Sr. on Dec. 6, 1983; two brothers, William E. Ritter and John A. Ritter Jr.; and three sisters, Sarah A. Elder, Aretta Yocum Webber and Clara Brown. She was the last of her immediate family.
Elizabeth is survived by: four children, Delores Yohn and husband, Larry, of Reedsville, Lewis E. Earnest Jr. and wife, Maureen, of Lewistown, Richard Earnest and wife, Melanie, of Yeagertown, and Connie Jones and husband, Rick, of Milroy; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She attended God’s Missionary Church.
Elizabeth retired from the housekeeping department of Lewistown Hospital in 1988.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Darvin Donahey officiating.
Interment will take place at Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
