Evelyn Mae (Lockett) Knouse

Evelyn Mae Knouse, 83, formerly of Sunbury, and of Belleville, passed away at 8:28 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2023, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

Born Oct. 26, 1939, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer Sr. and Martha Ellen (Clouser) Lockett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Donald Merrill Knouse, Dec. 24, 2000; son, Ronald L. Knouse; and grandson, Donald Knouse Jr.

Evelyn is survived by: longtime companion, Sam Booher, of Mifflin; children, Mary R. Rhodes and husband, Donald, of Belleville, Donald Knouse Sr. and wife, Linda, of Sunbury, and Ellen Blackburn and husband, Andrew, of Asheville, N.C.; ten grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Erin, James, Annette, Felicia, Bridgette, Christina, Andrew and Rachel; nine great-grandchildren; and brothers, Harold Lockett and wife, Mary, of Mifflintown, and Wilmer Lockett Jr. and spouse, of New Cumberland.

She was Methodist by faith.

Evelyn was a homemaker and enjoyed making crafts.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.

A second viewing will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m., at the Woodlawn funeral home, with Pastor Daryl Cyros officiating.

Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
