Evelyn Moyer Lindenberger, 100, formerly of Lewistown and of Quarryville, passed away at 5:50 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Home.

Born Feb. 18, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Albert S. and Mabel (Yoder) Shehan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Guy R. Lindenberger Sr.; sons, Guy R. Lindenberger Jr. and Dwight R. Lindenberger; sisters, Marian Brubaker and Mildred Gill; and son-in-law, Michael Kline.

Evelyn is survived by: daughter, Deborah Kline, of Newport; seven grandchildren, Eric Lindenberger, Shaun Lindenberger, Guy Richard Lindenberger III, Martha “Marty” Sload, Renee Williams, Michelle Jordan, and Jason Kline; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Roberta Steltzer and LaRue Getz and husband, Dick, both of Lewistown.

She was a McVeytown-Oliver High School graduate, Class of 1942.

Evelyn was a member of the First Church of the Brethren.

She was employed as a receptionist for the Lewistown (now Juniata Valley) YMCA.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown.

A second viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Reverend James J. Penica officiating.

Interment will take place at Spring Run Church of the Brethren Cemetery, McVeytown.
