Evelyn V. Renninger, 95, of McClure, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at Greenwood Village.
Born April 8, 1929, in McClure, she was the daughter of the late R.J. ‘Jonse’ Loht and Rhoda (Krepps) Loht.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon J. Renninger, who passed Nov. 19, 2020; daughter, Connie Henry; two grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Loht ‘Fuzzy’, Donald Loht, Bonalea Eisenhower, June Nye, and Darvin Loht; son-in-law, Walter Steffen; daughters-in-law, Sue Renninger and Sonia Renninger.
She is survived by; children, Darvin Renninger, Scott Renninger, and Jan Steffen, all of McClure; 14 grandchildren; many loving great-grandchildren; siblings, Marie Heimbach and husband, Alton, of New Cumberland, and Fern Loht, of McClure; a son-in-law, Dennis Henry, of McClure.
Evelyn was a member of the Bannerville Church of the Brethren.
She was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1947.
Evelyn enjoyed baking and cooking for others, and caring for her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Bannerville Church of the Brethren, in McClure with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Snyder officiating.
Interment will take place at Dormantown Lutheran Cemetery.
