Floyd E. Leister

Floyd E. “Dick” Leister, 82, of McClure, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Valley View.

Born Dec. 3, 1935, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late J. John and Genevieve A. (Gay) Leister.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife, Nancy J. (Kauffman) Leister; a son, Richard E. Leister; and siblings, Genevieve Stull, Lorraine Yetter, Harold E. Leister, Jay Leister and John J. Leister.

He is survived by: children, Randy L. Leister and wife, Kimbra, of Lewistown, John J. Leister and wife, Cindy, of McClure, Nancy J. Leister, of McClure; six grandchildren, Jason L. Leister and wife, Erin, Gregory A. Leister, Eric D. Leister and wife, Olivia, Timothy J. Leister, Annie J. Leister and fiance, Andrew, Katie L. Specht and husband, Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Kylee and Jaxson; siblings, Mabel Wagner and husband, Gary, of McClure, Gertie Wagner and husband, Larry, of Texas, Darlis Fultz, of McClure; and dog, Maggie.

Floyd was a Lewistown High School graduate.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, McClure.

In his earlier years he worked at the American Viscose. Later, he retired from PennDOT. He liked his John Deere tractors and would take his dog, Maggie, for rides. He was known for talking and he loved to socialize.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 821 Dormantown Road, McClure, PA 17841, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Reverend Leroy Reitz officiating.

Interment will take place at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Dormantown.
