Frances M. Miller

Frances M. Miller, 96, of Lewistown, passed away on August 2, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

Born December 17, 1925, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late William and Fannie (Bentzel) Metzger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband, Marlin ‘Shorty’ Miller; one brother, and three sisters.

She is survived by; children, George E. Miller, of Lewistown; Judith A. English and husband, David, of New Bern, NC, and Thomas L. Miller and wife, Susan J., of Wadsworth, OH; five grandchildren, Lori Hilliard, Cory English, Shane Miller, Jessica Miller, and Christian Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Hilliard, and Elizabeth Hilliard.

Frances was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1943.

In her earlier years, Frances worked for Bell Telephone and then at Lewistown Hospital in the business office for many years until she retired.

She enjoyed volunteering her time at church where she helped count the offerings, and the Mifflin County Area on Aging, where she would help complete tax forms for the elderly. She also volunteered at the Mifflin County Library, and the Mifflin County Historical Society

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Allen Hulslander officiating.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
