Francis P. Tully, 88, formerly of Burnham, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2023, at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.
Born March 24, 1935, in Lewistown, he was the only son of the late Francis J. and Pauline M. (Beatty) Tully. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson.
Francis is survived by: his loving wife, Vivian M. (Ford) Tully, of Lewistown, whom he married Sept. 15, 1954; daughter, Treena L. Wagner, of Etters; son, Joseph L. Tully, of New Philadelphia, Ohio; and two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, all of New Philadelphia, Ohio.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, who served aboard the U.S.S. Mellette from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict.
Francis retired from Standard Steel Corporation in 1997 with 33 years of service as a crane and furnace operator in the Wheel Mill.
He was a member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church and a member of Local 1940, United Steelworkers of America.
Francis was a good man with a great sense of humor and was always smiling. He was a loving husband and father and went out of his way to help others.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 10, at Birch Hill Cemetery, Eighth Avenue, Burnham, with Pastor Chris Lutz officiating.
