Fred C. ‘Freddy’ Price Jr., 87, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Greenwood Village.
Born June 16, 1935, in Granville, he was a son of the late Fred C. Price Sr. and Jennie Mae (Woodling) Price.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Sandra Kay (Stumpff) Price, whom he married August 29, 1975; a daughter, Cindy Flo Price Godshall; and a sister, Cheryl Price.
He is survived by; children, Louise L. Kurtz and husband, Melvin, of Lewistown, James L. Stumpff and fiancé, Connie Allgeo, of Florida, Robert A. Foltz and wife, Hang Cha, of Oklahoma, Tammy S. Partchey and husband, Douglas, of Lewistown, Cathy Marie Nicholson and partner, Peggy Nicholson, of McVeytown, and Christine Tome, of TN; 17 grandchildren, Shawn Herald, April Yocum, Teresa Xayavongsy, Donald Marks Jr., Denise Carlson, Tara Hower, Cassaundra Yoder, Rashigh Phillips, Gabrielle Kurtz, Kasper Kurtz, Jeffery Tome, Heather Tome, Brian Tome, Christopher Price, Greg Price, Robert Godshall, Crystal Carroll; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Deborah Specht, of Reedsville, Susan Hernandez, of Lewistown, William L.F Price and wife, Peg, of Lewistown, Daryl K. Price and wife, Wendy, of Lewistown, Gary E. Price and wife, Kathy, of Pittsburgh; close friends, Samuel Campbell and Adam Coffman, both of Lewistown.
He was a member of Ferguson Valley Brethren Christ Church. He was a life member of Brooklyn Fire House and was a Mifflin County Forest fire fighter.
Fred enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served for many years.
Earlier in life, he worked at the American Viscose, Lewistown Jail as a guard, and Ray Spickler Milk Handling.
Freddy was full of love and sarcasm. Those who knew him knew he gave the best hugs; he would pretend that his arms locked so he could hold onto you longer. Freddy loved being outdoors, he and his late wife would camp from April to October. Kayaking, fishing, hunting, and repairing things gave him such joy. He loved sharing those moments with his family and friends. Freddy was a handsome blue-eyed comedian, always making others laugh. We will miss you!
A receiving of friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Kenneth Grove officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
