Freda E. Simonetti, 88, of Valley View Haven, formerly of Milroy, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Geisinger – Lewistown Hospital.
Born February 10, 1932, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Frank W. and Kathryn G. (Duck) McKinney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Susan E.; a granddaughter, Kayla M. Simonetti; siblings, C. William McKinney, and Laurita Robinson.
She is survived by: husband, Frank W. Simonetti, of Valley View, whom she married on April 27, 1951; children, R. Keith Simonetti and wife, Carol, of Elverson, Carol Desiderati, of Dillsburg, Ronald P. Simonetti and wife, Barbara, of Reedsville, Christopher G Simonetti and wife, Pamela, of Reedsville; grandchildren, Marcus, Tania, Matthew, Trina, Kevin, Robin, Travis, Zachary, Lucas, and Tobin; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Leisenring, of Shelocta, James McKinney and wife, Judy, of Virginia, Wilbur McKinney and wife, Laura, of Illinois.
Freda attended Sacred Heart Church.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School and Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1953.
Freda was well known in the Pot Licker community. She volunteered in the community with the Red Cross bloodmobile, at the senior center helping to make quilts, and meals on wheels. She was also active with boy scouts, girl scouts, and little league.
She enjoyed puzzles, cards, yard sales, and spending time with family making fudge and jubilee jumbles. She also enjoyed crafting, knitting, and crocheting.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2020, at Juniata Memorial Park, with Pastor Barry Robinson officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A video recording will be made of the service and available upon request to the family for those that cannot attend.
