Gary Lee Ferguson, 70, formerly of Lewistown and of Upper Tract, WV, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV.
Born June 18, 1954, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Blaine and Thelma (Shehan) Ferguson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Ferguson; a niece, Heather Hamilton; and brother-in-law, James Tully.
Gary is survived by: wife, Donna Mae (Smith) Ferguson; sisters, Karen Tully, and Joy Spickler and husband, Josh, both of Lewistown; and nieces and nephew, Jennah Laughlin and husband, Charles, April Foltz, and Brady Feathers and wife, Kari, all of Lewistown.
He was a Lewistown High School graduate, Class of 1972, and attended the Cincinnati School of Mortuary. He was a Baptist by faith and loved the great outdoors.
Gary was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 10 years, during which time he received many performance awards in recognition and appreciation of his exceptional performance. In 1989, he was asked to assist in the investigation of the Robert F. Kennedy assassination. Gary also worked in other positions as an embalmer, a night guard at Pendleton County Prison, and as a sales clerk for Sports Unlimited.
Funeral services were held in Gary’s hometown of Franklin, WV on Oct. 27, 2024, with interment at Kline Cemetery in Kline, WV.
