George W. Cash, 84, of Burnham, passed away at 10:31 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Feb. 22, 1937, in Covington, Va., he was a son of the late Solvin and Queenie (Clark) Cash.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife, Dolly Rose (McCartle) Cash, Aug. 5, 2015; three brothers; and four sisters. He was the last of his immediate family.
George is survived by: children, William Stroup and wife, Judy, of Alfarata, Patricia Johnson and husband, Scott, and George Michael Cash and wife, Tanya, both of Burnham, and Kathleen Alexander and husband, Joe, of Lewistown; nine grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Covington High School.
George was an active member of Windy Hill Bible Church, where he served as a trustee.
He retired from the Melt Shop at Standard Steel Corporation. After retirement, he worked at Kmart.
In his earlier years, George loved playing softball. Most recently, he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and working crossword puzzles.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor John Reed officiating.
Interment will take place at Mt. Rock Cemetery, Oakland Avenue, Lewistown.
