George Allen Eddy Obituary

George Allen ‘Butch’ Eddy, 76, of Milroy, formally of McClure, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on January 5, 2024.


Born October 2, 1947, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Samuel G. and Dorothy M. (Rager) Eddy.


He is survived his wife, Kesorn (Puchomchoun) Eddy, of Thailand, of 53 years, whom he married March 5, 1970; daughter, Anna Greene, of Harrisburg, son, Audie Eddy and wife, Dionne, of Dunlevy, daughter, Angie Eddy and companion, Lawrence Gaul, of Harrisburg, and son, Taiwe Eddy and wife, Nicole, of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Craig M. Everette II and Aminah K. Everette, Elijah  Eddy and Rece Eddy, as well as Brynley and Peyton Eddy; great-grandchildren, Craig M. Everette III, Lake M. Everette, Miles M. Everette; brother, Pastor Kenneth Eddy and wife, Spring, of Reynoldsville, sister, Marleen Hackett and husband, Pastor Ray Hackett, of Dalmatia, sister, Rhonda Geedy and husband, Pastor Randy Geedy, of McClure; many loving nieces and nephews.


George graduated from West Snyder High School in 1965 and soon after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He did two tours in Korat, Thailand where he met his wife, Kesorn. After 22 years of service, he retired in 1989, and returned to Pennsylvania and found employment with the state as a Veterans Affairs Representative at the unemployment office where he retired in 2007.


He loved collecting coins, and antique furniture. He enjoyed refinishing and breathing new life into old and tired furniture pieces. He had a passion for poetry and is a published poet, titled ‘Memories Talk’ by George Eddy.


George was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and he loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.


A receiving of friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ken Eddy officiating.
