George W. Platzer, 79, of Hyde, passed away at 2:21 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at Penn Highlands-DuBois.
Born April 19, 1941, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late George "Jinker" Platzer and Minnie Elizabeth (Murschel) Mulholland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Alan "Puck" Platzer.
George is survived by: his wife, Hazel (Beish) Platzer; children, Apryle Simbeck and husband, Monty, of Grampian, George B. Platzer and wife, Michele, of Aldie, Va., Cindy Sue Poole and husband, John, of Clearfield, Patricia Kline and husband, Tom, of Reading, and Robert Allen Williams, of Md.; eleven grandchildren, Alesha Moore and husband, Aaron, of Grampian, Jed Greslick, of Curwensville, Joshua Greslick, of Grampian, Zoe, Johnny and Desiree Poole, Alex Kline, Merric and Raylnn Williams, and Abigail and Amanda Lynch, of Aldie, Va.; great-grandchildren, Carter and Reese Moore; and his sister, Patricia Ray, of Lancaster.
He was employed as a manager at United Refining of Pennsylvania in Warren.
George was a member of Osceola Moose Lodge No. 154 and Sons of the Legion Eagles. He enjoyed woodworking.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
