George S. Smith, 67, of Yeagertown, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born October 12, 1956, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late James and Nancy (Wagner) Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sons, George Alvin Smith and Jason Pensinger; and brothers, Duane Wagner and Sheldon Brock Beaston; daughter-in-law, Tess Macauley
He is survived by his wife, Toni (Forgy) Smith; children, Matthew Smith and wife, Teshia, of Chambersburg, Stephanie Searer and husband, Michael, of Yeagertown, and Marc Smith, of Yeagertown, Shawn Pensinger, of Chambersburg, Tanya Gallagher and husband, Scott, of Arizona; grandchildren, Ashlynn Searer, Vivian Searer, Kyler, Mason, Ciara, Novah, Jenna, Peyton Smith, Lorraina Searer, Caleb, Lucy, Kaiden Smith; great-granddaughter, Rhylynn Sanso; siblings, Christine Kapko, of Virginia, Susan Heslop. of Johnstown, Tami Mehringer, of Illinois, Tonya Bashore, of Reinholds, Dutt Juanita Campbell, of East Waterford, Elmer Beaston, of Amberson, Terry Beaston, of, McCoysville, Zoe Eppinger, of Kentucky.
He worked at Trinity Packaging, and owner/operator of George Smith Painting, and lastly a Pastor at Freedom Way Church of the Nazarene.
George enjoyed watching dirt track racing. He enjoyed going fishing and going to the ball field to watch his children and grandchildrens baseball and softball games.
A receiving of friends will be held from 10 to 11 am., Friday, January 5, 2024, at Freedom Way Church of the Nazarene, 215 E. Freedom Ave., Burnham, with a memorial service to follow at 11 am., with Pastor Kent Vandervort officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
