Gordon Renninger Obituary

Gordon J. Renninger, of McClure, passed away due to Covid-19 on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2020, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.

Born May 8, 1928, in McClure, he was the son of the late Bruce D. and Mertie (Knepp) Renninger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: brothers, Bobby, Wally, Gerald, and John Renninger.

Gordon is survived by: wife, Evelyn (Loht) Renninger, whom he married May 8, 1948; daughter, Connie Henry and husband, Dennis, of McClure; sons, Darvin Renninger and companion, Trudy Oburn, of McClure, Scott Renninger and wife, Sue, of McClure, and a daughter, Jan Steffen, of Lewistown; siblings, Bill Renninger and wife, Janet, of Millerstown, Percy Renninger, of Belleville, Janet Zieders and husband, Paul, of Granville, Dean Renninger and wife, JoAnne, of McClure, Lynn Renninger and wife, Arla, of McClure, La Ray Renninger and wife, Joyce, of Pottstown; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren;  and sister-in-law, Mae Renninger, of McClure.

He was a member of the Bannerville Church of the Brethren

Early in his life, Gordon worked for Decatur township. He later worked as a mechanic at Brower's Trucking, Crown Motor Freight, Noerr's Motor Freight, and Ryder.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
