Harriet Louise (Ross) Arndt, 68, of Reedsville, passed away, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at her home.

Born September 22, 1956, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late George Jr. Ross and Betty (Snyder) Ross.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Ross.

She is survived by her husband, James Edward Arndt; daughter, Tabitha Newton and husband, Gregory of North Carolina; grandchildren, Lauren and Tyson Newton; great-grandchildren, Ashur, Olivia and Tolvi Newton; siblings, Nancy Williams of Burnham, Harold Ross and wife, Christine, of Lewistown.

Harriet was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, Class of 1975. She also received her associate’s degree from South Hills Business School.

During her career, Harriet worked as the Financial Aid Director at South Hills School of Business and Technology and as the Financial Aid Administrator at Geisinger Lewistown School of Nursing.

Her life revolved around her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, reading and going to the beach.

A Celebration of life service will be held at the Bethel AME Church in Lewistown on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 1 pm.  

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
